L’Ajuntament de Roquetes està realitzant unes obres de millora als escocells dels arbres situats a l’avinguda Port de Caro i carrer Major, la principal artèria viària de la ciutat. Els treballs consisteixen en la col·locació, als forats dels arbres, d’unes petites pedres de color marró amb resina que han de permetre que l’aigua filtre a la terra i els arbres puguen continuar creixent, al mateix temps que també es millora la seua imatge visual. El regidor d’Obres Públiques, Serveis i Béns de Roquetes, Ivan Garcia, ha explicat que l’actuacióha estat motivada “per una proposta amb forma de moció, que va presentar el portaveu del grup municipal de Ciutadans, Ximo Llopis, tot i que des de l’equip de govern ja es tenia contemplada”. Garcia tamé ha volgut destacar que “a més de millorar la imatge del carrer principal de Roquetes, l’arranjament d’aquests escocells permetrà una millor neteja de l’entorn dels arbres i millorarà l’accessibilitat al seu voltant, sobretot el pas de cadires de rodes, perquè ara queda tot al mateix nivell de la vorera”.
