Tècnics de Birding Natura (entitat dedicada a la conservació), amb la col·laboració i suport del Parc Natural dels Ports, del grup de Suport de Muntanya dels Agents Rurals i del MITECO, han realitzat el marcatge i alliberament d’aquests exemplars en el marc d’un projecte de conservació del duc de Birding Natura i Endesa. El geolocalitzador instal·lat permetrà estudiar el seu comportament durant un any, registrar dades i informació que han de permetre definir accions per contribuir a la preservació de l’espècie. I és que els darrers estudis apunten que la meitat de les morts que es produeixen en el duc són degudes a causes no naturals.
