El president del Consorci de Polítiques Ambientals de les Terres de l’Ebre (COPATE) ha afirmat aquest dimarts que estan totalment oberts a negociar amb l’Ajuntament de Tortosa la proposta per assumir una part o tota la gestió dels residus i de la neteja viària del municipi. Actualment, el COPATE realitza la recollida selectiva dels residus a Tortosa, a través d’un contracte que cal renovar durant aquest 2017. Però la capital del Baix Ebre fa pel seu compte la recollida de la fracció rebuig i la neteja dels carrers. La intenció del govern de Tortosa és agrupar tots aquestes serveis en un únic macrocontracte, i encara no sap si ho farà a través del COPATE. Francesc Gas ha afegit que la gestió dels residus des del COPATE seria viable encara que Tortosa decidís adjudicar el nou macrocontracte pel seu compte a una empresa privada. Amb tot, ha volgut deixar clar que l’objectiu del consorci és gestionar el conjunt dels residus del Baix Ebre i del Montsià. En qualsevol cas, el president del COPATE ha insistit que volen adaptar-se a les necessitats que plantegi l’Ajuntament de Tortosa en la propera negociació. Per exemple, a l’hora d’incloure la neteja viària també en els serveis assumits pel COPATE. De fet, confia en què la qüestió puga tancar-se al més aviat possible, perquè el nou contracte puga entrar en vigor durant el 2017. Els comptes experimenten un creixement del 2,6% respecte al pressupost del 2016, tot i que es congelen novament els impostos i les taxes municipals. Durant una entrevista a Canal 21 Ebre, Gas ha destacat aquest dimarts l’increment de la partida de polítiques socials, que d’entrada ocuparà el 3,03% del pressupost municipal. El pressupost de Roquetes és de més de 6,1 milions d’euros. Al capítol d’inversions, Gas ha remarcat la provisió de fons per al pagament dels terrenys on s’està acabant de construir el nou CAP de Roquetes. També la reurbanització de la plaça de la Raval de Cristo i la reforma de l’antic ajuntament, on després del trasllat del dispensari s’han d’instal·lar les noves dependències de Serveis Socials. Finalment, en els propers mesos també es reformarà el casal de l’Hort de Cruells, per ubicar-hi un nou bar-restaurant. Gas ha afegit que enguany Roquetes també continuarà l’esforç inversor per millorar la pavimentació de carrers i camins rurals.
