Per la seva banda, el batlle d’Alfara de Carles, Jordi Forné, ha subratllat que deixen “enrere anys” en què veïnat i ajuntaments han fet actuacions a la carretera que “no perduren”. La nova Mancomunitat també promourà l’oferta turística del Parc Natural dels Ports, donarà suport a les iniciatives que es proposen des del parc i contribuirà a la defensa dels recursos naturals i dels valors socioculturals dels pobles. Finalment, el projecte d’estatuts deixa la porta oberta a la incorporació d’altres localitats al nou ens.
