Per la seva part, l’alcalde de Roquetes, Ivan Garcia, ha destacat que la ciutat és pionera al territori en presentar un pla lector municipal amb la missió de portar la lectura a tots els racons.&#13;

                <text>El pròxim dilluns 14 d’abril es compliran 175 anys de la independència de Roquetes. Per celebrar-ho, l’Ajuntament ha programat un seguit d’activitats que han arrencat aquest mateix divendres amb la inauguració d’un mural a la façana posterior de les piscines municipals.&#13;

L’obra incorpora els edificis més emblemàtics de la ciutat, com l’església o el mercat, així com elements del folklore roquetero com són els gegants. L’artista Lara Gombau ha estat l’encarregada de la pintura, amb l’ajuda de l’alumnat de l’Escola Marcel·lí Domingo.
