L’escriptora Liz Castro ha afirmat aquest dimarts que els fets de l’1 d’Octubre haurien d’estar molt presents en la campanya i en els resultats del 21 de desembre. Durant una entrevista a Canal 21 Ebre, Castro ha remarcat que els ciutadans de Catalunya tenen l’oportunitat de “protegir” els que van tirar endavant el procés independentista, el referèndum i la proclamació de la República, tal i com els havia demanat la gent el 27-S del 2015. Segons Castro, “arrasar” a les urnes és la única manera de traure els polítics de la presó i fer tornar els que són a Brussel·les.
L’activista independentista ha afirmat que guanyar amb rotunditat el 21-D és important per demostrar que és possible canviar un govern d’una manera democràtica.
L’escriptora nord-americana va presentar dilluns a Roquetes el seu darrer llibre, ‘Els carrers seran sempre nostres’, una crònica gairebé periodística de la cronologia dels fets de l’1 d’Octubre. Segons Castro, el llibre era necessari per contrarestar la campanya de l’unionisme, que busca restar importància a la gravetat dels fets.
