El regidor de Festes de Roquetes, Sisco Ollé, i el president del Patronat de Festes, Juan Carlos Sangres, han anunciat que la festa major de d’enguany queda suspesa davant la situació provocada per la covid-19. “L’equip de govern ha decidit suspendre les festes i tots els esdeveniments de carrer que tenen lloc fins al 15 juliol, com la celebració de Sant Joan, i a partir d’aquesta data la realització d’altres activitats dependrà de l’evolució que tingui la pandèmia del coronavirus”, ha afirmat Ollé. Segons el regidor, l’Ajuntament i el Patronat de Festes han enviat una carta conjunta a les pubilles i pubilletes del 2020, en què se’ls comunica que se sumaran a les pubilles de les festes de l’any que ve, “per poder fer unes festes espectaculars, amb la intenció si es poden portar a terme, de què siguin unes festes destacables”. Per la seua part, Sangres ha explicat que han decidit “suspendre les Festes Majors perquè enguany toca pensar en lo cap, pensem que primer és la salut i les persones abans de la festa i del ball. No és una decisió fàcil, no és una decisió per alegrar-nos, però creiem que és la decisió més encertada”. ANUNCI Segons Sangres, “això no vol dir que més endavant, quan es pugui, el Patronat organitzi alguna activitat, perquè les roqueteres i roqueteros es mereixen una desconnexió de tot el que estem passant, que no és cosa de riure”.
