Roquetes ha celebrat el 175è aniversari de la seva independència amb quatre intensos dies carregats d’actes lúdics, culturals i institucionals. Un dels actes per commemorar la independència de Roquetes ha estat la recreació teatral de ‘De Roquetes Vinc’, a càrrec de la companyia local Sinèrgia, on es va representar el primer dia de la història de la ciutat. També va tenir lloc l’acte d’agermanament amb el poble francès de Saint Marcel, que acull l’Ateneu Republicà de Narbona, on reposa l’últim alcalde republicà de Roquetes, Joan Castells ‘l’Àguedo’, exiliat a França i que va morir el 1944. L’acte institucional més destacat és el reconeixement al Roquetenc de l’any, en aquesta ocasió ha recaigut en l’Associació de Jubilats i Pensionistes pel seu 40è aniversari. El parlament va anar a càrrec del president del Patronat de Festes de Roquetes, Juan Carlos Sangres. Entre altres també hi ha hagut el concert del cantautor Joan Rovira o l’actuació de l’Orquestra la Fiesta. L’alcalde de Roquetes, Ivan Garcia, ha remarcat el “segell local” dels artistes que es donaren cita en les diferents expressions musicals i culturals del cartell.
