                <text>L’Ajuntament de Roquetes preveu construir, en els pròxims anys, al voltant d’un centenar d’habitatges socials. Ho farà als terrenys situats entre l’escola Marcel·lí Domingo i el pavelló esportiu, pels quals el consistori n’ha formalitzat l’adquisició esta setmana.&#13;

Es tracta de tres parcel·les de sòl urbanitzable, que sumen 11.000 metres quadrats. A més d’habitatge, l’ajuntament també preveu construir-hi equipaments municipals, aprofitant que en una de les parcel·les hi ha l’edifici històric de l’antiga cooperativa.&#13;
&#13;
L’acord tanca mesos de negociacions durant les quals Roquetes ha aconseguit rebaixar el preu d’adquisició: inicialment estava fixat en més de 630.000 euros, que finalment s’ha reduït fins als 185.000 euros, fet que suposa un estalvi de més del 70% per a les finances municipals.&#13;
&#13;
Amb esta operació, l’Ajuntament de Roquetes vol donar un impuls a esta zona urbanística i confia que la construcció d’habitatge social suposarà un revulsiu per a la resta de parcel·les situades a l’entorn, que ja disposen de qualificació urbanitzable.&#13;
&#13;
En les últimes dècades, la zona ha viscut una transformació important. A més de la presència d’equipaments com l’escola infantil o l’institut de secundària, també s’hi aixequen el pavelló poliesportiu o el complex d’aigües. A més a més, és lloc de pas de la Via Verda, i un dels principals accessos a l’Observatori de l’Ebre. </text>
